Southern Tier Libraries Present: Free for All – The Public Library
Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month with a Community Screening

Join us this September as libraries across the Southern Tier host screening events of the acclaimed PBS documentary Free for All: The Public Library, a powerful tribute to the enduring impact of public libraries in America. This award-winning film explores the rich history of the public library, from the 19th-century Free Library Movement to today’s vital conversations around funding, access, book bans, and digital equity.

Screenings will be held at locations throughout Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates Counties. Each event will include a viewing of the film followed by a community discussion. Join us to connect, reflect, and celebrate our public libraries during Library Card Sign-Up Month.
