Explore the diversity of French-language film from around the world.  Each month, a film from one of the regions influenced by French language and culture will be available for viewing, then we will gather at the end of the month to discuss it.  We’ll pay special attention to the relationship between the region’s primary culture and the colonial influences on it.  This month’s film is “Va, Vis et Deviens” (“Live and Become”), Radu Mihaileanu’s 2005 Franco-Israeli drama about an Ethiopian boy who disguises himself as a Jew to escape famine. Though some French may be spoken in the meetings, they are open to people of all skill levels, and we will make sure that everyone can follow the discussion.
