Penn Yan Action Coalition Community Read: Community Connections

March 22 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Come together to read and consider The Displaced, an important book that examines, in an array of humanizing, first-person essays, the experiences of a wide variety of people forced to flee their homes.  In this final sessions, we’ll welcome guest speakers from our wider community: first, a Hobart William Smith student from a refugee family.  Then, representatives of the New York Immigration Coalition will share about their organization’s mission advocating for displaced people, as well as ways that everyone can help.  This is one of the key issues of our moment in history – take the time to understand it beyond the headlines and agendas.  Attend in person at Penn Yan Public Library, or join us via Zoom by registering at http://tinyurl.com/mwvdr265.  Presented by the Penn Yan Action Coalition.
