The Penn Yan Action Coalition invites you to participate in this year’s community read of DANCING IN THE MOSQUE: AN AFGHAN MOTHER’S LETTER TO HER SON, by Homeira Qaderi, which is available for purchase at Long’s Cards and Books in downtown Penn Yan. This moving memoir introduces us to a courageous woman, one who “challenges you to reconsider the meaning of motherhood, sacrifice, and survival. Her story asks you to consider the lengths you would go to protect yourself, your family, and your dignity.” For this session, we are excited and proud to host the author herself for a discussion about her life in Afghanistan, the events of her book, and her experiences since.
