The Penn Yan Action Coalition invites you to participate in this year’s community read of DANCING IN THE MOSQUE: AN AFGHAN MOTHER’S LETTER TO HER SON, by Homeira Qaderi, which is available for purchase at Long’s Cards and Books in downtown Penn Yan. This moving memoir introduces us to a courageous woman, one who “challenges you to reconsider the meaning of motherhood, sacrifice, and survival. Her story asks you to consider the lengths you would go to protect yourself, your family, and your dignity.” At this first session, we will be discussing the book itself – its themes, its contents, and what reading it awakened in you.
