PYPL invites you to get to know the books that have been targets of censorship by “adopting” one!  All month long, we will have a variety of books on display that have been banned or challenged for various reasons over the years.  Pick a favorite or one that’s new to you, and do a little research on why it’s been challenged and what its outcomes have been – we’ll get you started with some resources.  Then come to one of our grand finale roundtable conversations on the 28th or 30th (pick the one that works best for you), where you’ll be asked to share what you discovered about your book and learn some more about the history and current status of censorship in the United States! We’ll have some provocative questions about personal liberty and collective rights, leaving everyone with a better appreciation of the freedom to read.  Each participant will be entered for a chance to win a banned books-themed gift basket!
