Exploring Global Rights Documents
Join us as we start this program anew, in person, on your own schedule! Delve deeper into the history of the global progress towards human rights in this ongoing program. Each session, quietly hand-write portions of key rights-affirming documents from around the world and across time. Reflect on each selection’s place in history and the ways it has impacted our collective progress. This month, examine the Haitian Declaration of Independence, the first such document proclaimed by formerly enslaved people in the Americas. All supplies provided for these drop-in sessions; participate whenever and for however long you are able during the program’s hours. Inspired by artist Morgan O’Hara’s Handwriting the Constitution project.
