Penn Yan Public Library is pleased to welcome Mary Gilliland for an evening of beautiful and evocative poetry that “aims to charm, alarm, and galvanize her listeners and readers.” With abiding interests in ecology, equality, justice, and peace, Mary has lived and worked around the world, including by developing a walk-in writing service for students, staff, and faculty at Cornell. Her seven collections of poetry include Ember Days<\/em>, the award-winning\u00a0The Devil\u2019s Fools<\/em>\u00a0and her latest,\u00a0Within the Shop of the Divine<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
