SUMMARY:Outdoor Storytime at the Community Garden (10am)
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor storytime is so fun! Best for youth under 5\, with a caregiver\, this storytime will feature the sights\, smells\, and tastes of the Penn Yan Community Garden\, along with songs\, books\, and movement! The Community Garden is located at the end of Pleasant Ave\, which is a dead end street off of South Ave\, in Penn Yan. There is no restroom\, seating\, or running water\, so bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs\, dress for the weather\, and be ready to have fun! Feel free to bring water bottles\, sunscreen\, and snacks. This storytime will take place at the library in the event of inclement weather.

SUMMARY:Community Stuff Swap & Outreach Fair
DESCRIPTION:PYPL’s No Shop Stuff Swap returns for a milestone fifth year!  Members of the community are welcome to clear out their closets\, attics and basements to bring clean\, useful\, usable items to the library for others to freely take – helping to declutter our lives\, keep items out of the waste stream\, and get them into the hands of people who can use them.  This kickoff session is timed to coincide with the debut of this year’s Yates Concert Series\, so if you’re heading downtown for the music\, stop by the library to browse!  This year\, we’re continuing to invite representatives from local service organizations to table at these events\, offering another layer of value and connectedness.  Our outreach guests will be Zero Waste Ithaca and Sustainable Finger Lakes\, who will also be sharing during our overlapping Civics Hub session the same evening.  Questions? DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exploration of the values that unite us and the systems and strategies we can all use to promote a fairer\, more informed society.  This month\, as a tie-in to the library’s first Stuff Swap session\, we’ll meet outside and have guests from Sustainable Finger Lakes and Zero Waste Ithaca.  These regional organizations will share about their efforts to build a sustainable\, more resilient future for all of us\, and how we can all help.
